Milestones achieved in reducing emissions
Last year‘s development of a sustainability strategy formed an important basis for progress in terms of sustainability and this was systematically implemented in 2023. Uhlmann reached a number of important milestones last year with the development of a central climate commitment and the reporting of greenhouse gas emissions.
Next year, Uhlmann will continue to focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions; around 96 percent of which are generated in Uhlmann's upstream and downstream supply chains. With a view to significantly reducing its impact on the climate, the Uhlmann Group has joined the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and it has also committed itself to reducing emissions from its own activities (Scope 1 and 2) by 42 percent and in the upstream and downstream value chain (Scope 3) by 27.5 percent by 2030 compared to the base year of 2019/2020.
